Puppy Classes ... Why are they so important?
Socialization
The puppy has a socialization window - the time when he is more open to accepting novel things than at any other time during his or her life - from 3 to 16 weeks. During this time, the more proper socialization (positive experiences) owners can provide their puppy, the better adjusted he will be when encoutering new things later in life.
Proper socialization is the key to preventing many future behavior problems, but it's very important that you take the right approach.
Puppies are like sponges - they want and need to absorb as much as they can!
The best gift you can give to your new puppy are positive experiences and exposure to as many people, places, things, events and other dogs (Canines) as possible.
Important: Effective puppy training and dog obedience training should be fun for both the dog and human!
Puppy classes offer guardians a safe place to socialize their puppies, with the added benefit of professional guidance in puppy raising (House/Potty training, Nipping, Digging, Chewing, Jumping up, Lead pulling, etc.) and puppy obedience (Come when called, Sit, Down, Stand, Stay, Look at me, Body awareness etc.), last but not least ... It's Fun!
You don't need to wait for a class to start, you can start any Saturday. Please ensure that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your class starts, it gives you time for a cup of tea or coffee, thus allowing your dog the time to socialize and become calm, so both of you can enjoy the class even more.
Classes are divided in two levels: (No dogs older than 4 months) Puppy Beginner - 1 hour class Puppy Advanced - 1 hour class The training syllabus is set that handlers work towards a goal and is aligned with competition standards but there is no pressure for the handlers to compete.
